What To Do When You Have Murder Charges?

It is one of those misfortunate moments, when even after having no connection in some murder case, you have been accused guilty. If there is such instance, here are a few dos and don’ts which you should bear in your mind –
Cooperate with the investigators and cops. When the needle of suspicion is pointing you, you are advised to cooperate with the investigation team. Not doing so will only sour up your problems, and strengthen their belief that you are ‘the accused’.
Do not make any statement related to the case, without the knowledge of your murder defense lawyer. Most importantly, when the cops and investigators are interrogating, you should not make any statement, which they can see from their angle. Remember, you have the right to stay quiet, and you can say, “Speak to my lawyer about this” or “I’ll talk to you after I have consulted my lawyer”.
Do not hide anything from your lawyer. Whatever you know about the incident, you should tell your lawyer. Hiding anything can exacerbate the situations against you. There should not be something that you are hiding, and the opposition knows about it. They can use those facts against you, and the things will be much worse for you. If you recall something, which you believe could be important in the case, you should enunciate it to your criminal lawyer in Montreal.
The first step that you should take after you have been held responsible for a murder is to hire an experienced criminal defense lawyer. You can also consider hiring a professional law firm that handles criminal cases. Speak to them, and pass on your side of the story, so that a strong defense can be presented during the proceedings.
